Walking and talking? Why, you might ask…well here it is. For some of us, conventional ways are just not enough and therapy is no different. Some of us need the safety of our therapy room, the familiar, comforting space sitting opposite our trusted therapist session after session. There are however some who thrive in a different therapeutic environment – introducing walk and talk therapy!
Conducting therapeutic sessions whilst on a beautiful walk, breathing in fresh air, body in motion, endorphins releasing can be an absolutely phenomenal experience. I for one have my best thinking and processing time whilst on my walks, and what better than to have someone invested in your wellbeing to share your thoughts/worries/experiences with. In addition, if you’ve been struggling to get moving and you feel this is linked to your need for therapeutic intervention, then why not? – “2 birds; 1 stone”.
